I get this error when trying to render with optix.
ERROR| [gpu] OptiX was not found
Nvidia driver version: 416.34
Version: C4DtoA 2.4.2.1 Arnold core 5.2.1.0
I have a GTX TITAN X and a GTX 970.
Try adding the arnold\bin folder to the PATH
@Stephen Blair I'm assuming you mean adding an environment variable. I tried added that but still getting the same error
Is this in R20? There's a known issue, that the optix denoiser is not working in R20, because of a dll loading problem. The fix is coming in the next release. Actually adding the Arnold bin folder to the PATH env var, like Stephen suggested should work as a workaround.
Here's how you set environment variables on Windows:
https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000549.htm
You have to add
c:\Program Files\MAXON\Cinema 4D R20\plugins\C4DtoA\arnold\bin to the PATH variable. So it should look like this:
c:\Program Files\MAXON\Cinema 4D R20\plugins\C4DtoA\arnold\bin;my other folder1;my other folder2;...
Check this for OSX:

Don't forget to remove this when the bug is finally fixed.
Sorry, how to add a PATH to be able to select the OptiX ??
Can someone write step by step tutorial ?
I've got a fix, please check this build and let me know if it does not work for you.
