After creating a physical camera matched to a photograph with Max's Perspective Match, the rendered view differs a great deal from the viewport camera. I've read this has to do with the camera not having a uniform scale. Looking at the camera the scale reads 99,904x - 99,259y - 104,618z. Setting the values to 100 fixes the render/viewport discrepancy, however, it also messes up the perspective and the camera no longer matches the bitmap. The other renderers that ship with Max do not seem to care about camera scale and work fine either way. Arnold however does not. Any fix for this?
Hi Petros, I’ve read several posts on this issue but haven’t seen a solution that corrects the camera’s scale without also changing the camera’s view. What do you suggest?
I put as render resolution my background image resolution.
I put same image as perspective viewport backgroung
I creat a bitmap with this image as environment screen and put it to backplate
In utilities->perspective viewport->show vanishing lines
I move my vanishing lines to match my picture and see that my object is positioned well.
I create physical camera from view.
I select my camera view and press
"select and uniform scale", with value of 1 in
offset screen repeatedly till all x,y,z go to 0.
