Light path expressions: custom expressions docs query

In the documentation for the light path expressions (Arnold for maya) under custom light path expressions what does this refer to exactly?

"Custom light path expressions are added to options.light_path_expressions, and can then be used as AOVs in options.outputs."

Where is "options.outputs"? Is it an attribute or in a script somewhere? I can't see anything obvious.

thanks

Do you mean this page? https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/x/rQAnAg

That's in the Arnold docs, not MtoA (Arnold for Maya).

options in an Arnold node, and light_path_expressions and outputs are parameters of the options node

MtoA translates your Maya scene to Arnold. The render settings become the options node, and your AOVs become options.outputs.

Apologies, I hadn't noticed I'd navigated away from the maya specific docs. Moving to general help.

To clarify, if someone else picks this up - I'd like to know where in Maya I can add the custom light path expression to use light groups as outlined on the above documentation page.

Create a custom AOV, load the AOV node into the Attribute Editor, and put a light path expression in the Light Path Expression box. For example, if you have a light group named "yellow", then put the light path expression C<L.'yellow'>
