Cant assign Object ID´s

Hello,

I´ve asked this question earlier but I try once again:

I want to assign object ID´s to some objects.

I´ve tried a lot but I can´t manage to get individual colours on the objects when rendered.

So thankful for help!

Thank you in advance.

Br Marcus

Which plugin? Have you tried the ID AOV and/or Utility shader?

Actually i don´t know exactly which Plug-in I Use. I haven´t download any so to say.

Under the "built-in rollout" I´ve used both the "object" and "ID", I think the problem is that I don´t know how to choose and assign ID´s to the specific objects.

Which of the AOV, in the builtin rollout are the best to use if I only want to "separate" some of the objects from the others? (in the render with different colours) And how can I assign it to the specific objects?

So thankful for your help.

Did you try the aov_write_rgb as in the tutorial?

Hi,

I try now and I think everything is fine, until I should "Open the Render Settings window and under the AOVs tab, select 'Setup AOVs'". I cant find the setup AOV tab.?

But I can see that I have the "ObjectID" under the custom rollout.

Therefore, How can i move forward and assign it, You with me?

Hello Again,

After looking at the Tutorial, They are not showing how to assign the object ID´s, Will arnold do it automatically?

Have you tried ID AOVs in the Standard Surface?

When i look in the standard surface, I can´t find the AOV rollout in the bottom.

Everything else is exactly the same, but I miss the oppurtunity to choose "colourID"

I can add to the conversation that i´ve used the Arnold material, Is that a problem or could I still render Object ID?

I´ve now downloaded the plug in and got all the functions as I need.

My Question is right now: How do I compare the different ID´s (in the rollout where I can choose colours) with the objects I will pick pick in the render set-up window. (Where I add Custom AOV´s)

You can assign different Standard Surface shaders to different objects with different IDs. The workflow is here.

Okey. Just to ensure: In The standard surface rollout, i write ID1 with pink colour, Then in my Custom AOV I create a new AOV called ID1, I add it to the object i want to have an Object ID on, I press add " channels" , Is that workflow right and can i expect it to render out the objects with dif. colours?

Yes, but you set the color yourself. Maybe Cryptomatte is more suitable for your needs?

Yes, The problem is that I don´t know if it generates the AOV´s since i can´t see them in the render, but i got files like .AOV in my output..

It Seems that the Cryptomatte works good, that gives me separate colours for the objects I want. !

But i´m still unsure how to do the render process, in case of both get the "cryptomatte" separation and the "proper" look..

"and the "proper" look.."

Do you mean the RGBA AOV (beauty)?
