Sorry if this has already been asked (I didn't see anything upon an initial quick search), but is it possible to import/export shader networks between packages? We use C4D and Maya and were just wondering if there was an easy way to exchange shaders between them. Obviously not every node would carry over one-to-one, but if at least enough of it came through that would save time on setup.
No, unless somebody has written a script to do it. You'd have to export the nodes from one app, to a format like json maybe, and then read that file and create the corresponding nodes in the second app.
Thanks Stephen! Sad to hear, but we might be able to find some workarounds. My scripting skills are shaky at best, but this might be worth looking into.
