C4DtoA - Using Mesh Particles with Bend Deformers

My problem is simple, I have a plane which I'm using an Arnold Mesh Particles on to render a custom object, and I need to animate and reposition the plane with a C4D bend deformer. When I use it all the mesh particles render in twisted way facing upwards.

How could I have the mesh particles follow the UV of the plane??

Check the Channels tab of the Mesh Particles tag.

Set the Rotation to Normal

I actually did that and my machine had frozen up... I'm going to use a smaller plane to simulate this on.

Do you think @Stephen Blair then I could create a arnold .ass file of a smaller portion of what I'm using and clone that .ass file to the surface of a plane?

Ok, so it worked flat but as I use a c4d deformer bend tool c4d freezes up. It seems that it as re-angled the object being cloned using the c4dtoa "Arnold Mesh Particles".

Just how big is the plane? The custom object is being instanced in Arnold, so the complexity of that object shouldn't matter, at least not for rendering.

This is with the Arnold IPR window open?

@Stephen Blair

Ok so I've made it back to the office today after the holiday. My plane size is 1.267 inches wide by 600 inches long. I have it kinda heavily subdivided so I'm able to render the mesh object to "Shape mode = Sequential" so that all the custom shapes are rendered aligned to the vertices of the plane. And the plane is a not being subdivided by an effector or subdivision surface object it's an editable object now.

The Bend deformer does not alter the number of vertices so it should not make any difference in the performance. Is C4D frozen for a couple of seconds (minutes?) or completely? Is it the IPR or the PV render too?

Yeah, so it freezes for about 5 to 20 minutes in when I start up the IPR. I'm clearing out my file and just working with a segment of the plan and then going to try to use a spline wrap to clone that segment onto. That segment has the Arnold mesh particles applied to it to render the object to the verticies.
