Some objects don't seem to react the same in volume renders

.I am having issues making some objects volume objects. Step size does not seem to matter, but for Volume padding, these few full body objects will not show at all unless I use 0 for volume padding and then they are completely black....have not been able to figure it out. Any Suggestions?

Are the objects closed? I presume you have assigned a Standard Volume shader to the objects. Can you share a simplified scene or if that's not possible a screengrab of your setup?

Here is a screenshot of the scene with the volume Padding at zero-black object when VDB and ball work fine, and a separate shot if I turn the Volume Padding on at all....object disappears

Not totally sure if object is closed....but have had success on several open objects

Thank you for helping Lee, I finally stumbled on the answer....seems the Range in the Shader Network needed to be adjusted to levels I have never been near to get the volume to show .(Like values of 20 in Input max and .02 in Input Max
