Converting substance assets to Arnold material problem. Need help!

Hi guys, as the question suggests, I have problem when I convert a substance asset to arnold material.

I use the built-in convert command to do the work, as the pic shows

Then when I opened the network editor, every asset slot of substance shader node is blank.

Actually I use substance assets very rarely, so I am not sure if I was doing anything wrong.

But how can I fix this?

You have to create the substance shader first (eg drag a Substance file to the Asset box) and the select a channel.

Then you can convert Substance to an Arnold Material

Well, actually there's a bug in the two latest versions (2.4.3 and 2.4.4), which I just fixed today. So the upcoming 2.4.5 will have the fix.

Thanks for the answer. Of course I know how to convert this in a manual way. But I am looking for the automated way, because my producer gave me tons of substance assets to convert. Doing this one by one manually might be kind of pain. However, it seems that I have to do this manually before the fixed version is released.

I'll make you a wip build in sec, so you don't have to relink the assets manually.

That's great, Peter. But for now, I have to do the converting work manually. Sometimes things have to be done in a hard way. Anyway, thanks for this!

Wow, that's GREAT! Really grateful for that. It would save me a lot of time.

Well, it was more than a sec, but here you go. 🙂
