When saving renders from the renderview, the cryptomatte nuke plugin doesn't recognize the cryptomatte aovs. When doing normal render which saves straight to an image, everything works fine.
Is this a known limitation or a bug?
Did you try to check a file in the temp folder, where Arnold save the files rendered in renderview? Copyng this file could be an option.
Looks like this is caused by not saving the metadata that the cryptomatte node in Nuke requires. The images themselves are identical.
Hello,
I'm facing the same issue with the Arnold RenderView in Maya, that the AOVs are not recognizable in Nuke. So basically built-in cryptomatte AOVs from Arnold RenderView can't be used in Nuke, any news from that? (2017 question)
Up. For informations I'm using the Cryptomatte plugin for Nuke: https://github.com/Psyop/Cryptomatte
Is it not planned to support the compatibility with the plugin on Nuke & Fusion?
I am also interested.
Is there an option to include metadata to the Arnold Render View Output so that when you save a multi layer OpenEXR they are included?
@Paolo Giandoso the cryptomatte shader checks which driver is active. It will only do the required setup of the driver is “driver_exr”. I don’t think there’s a way around this without compiling a modified version of the shader
