Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to follow Lee's tutorial "Displaced Faces". I opened his scene to check the graph node, but whenever I render Maya crashes...I then tried to do it myself and I think I manage to do it, the only problem is that whenever I try to render this error comes out:
# Error: line 1: [maketx] Couldn't convert the texture to TX "D:/Path/Image.jpeg"
No matter what texture file I use.Anyway I could fix this?
Thanks
I just tried it and it works fine. Did you open the included image?
I tried on another pc and for some reason now it works...However, may I ask you some things related to it which I'm not understanding?
1)Why do you have a ramp with three colors? What do these 3 colors do exactly? I don't understand as these colors are not even visible when rendering..
2)The last sentence of the tutorial stases this:
However, I can't really find any exposure parameter..
3)In the tutorial is written this:
However, I can't see any of these 2 nodes in the scene you provide and I don't understand what these would allow us to do if used with the rest of the nodes.
Thank you and sorry for the many questions!
Hey Stefano,
you need to use Arnold nodes! aiColorCorrect, aiUtility and aiAdd. In there you find the settings you are looking for. I hope this helps.
1. Why do you have a ramp with three colors? What do these 3 colors do exactly? I don't understand as these colors are not even visible when rendering..
Use the UV ramp colors to remap the colors of the image.
2. However, I can't really find any exposure parameter..
It's on the Color Correct.
3. Connect a Utility shader with a Flat Shade Mode and a UV Color Mode (via an Add shader) connected to the image shaders UV coords.
Where is this in the tutorial?
@Lee Griggs
Ah thank you both!
the sentence I'm talking about is in this tutorial:
