Asset/Tx Manager Replace With improvement suggestion

Hi, writing in the path in the Replace box, as well as in the With box is quite tedious and error prone. Instead, I would suggest to add a context menu called "Copy Path to Clipboard" under the existing "Replace..." when the user right clicks any item in the Asset column. Then the user can paste that path into either of the boxes and edit the path there. This will be much faster and easier than manually entering the paths. Or instead, a single click on any item to change it to a selectable textbox to allow the user to copy the text. This process is similar to when I use the C4D native Texture Manager, except there you can double click any item and copy the text.

Also, is it possible to not clear the text in the text boxes after clicking Replace? This will be helpful when there are further replacements to be made.

Thanks.

Thanks for the note, both sound like a good improvement ("Copy Path to Clipboard" in the context menu and not clearing the boxes). I'm wondering though what's the exact use-case when you want to copy the full path to the replace box and not just replacing the file via the file dialog or relink the folder.

The use case is, I have many textures placed in different folders on one drive, then one day I move them to another drive. The folder structure on both drives is the same, except for the first half of the paths, which is different. So, I would then copy the wrong path to the Replace box and remove the last half of the path, then copy one of the other paths that happen to be correct in the Asset manager to the With box, and remove the last half of the path. Then select missing and click replace to fix all missing paths at once.

The Relink... feature works with subfolders, so if the subfolder structure is the same, you should be able to Select Missing -> Relink... -> choose the root folder on the new drive.

Anyway, your suggestions still make sense, so I'll add those to my todo list.
