Is there any advantage to using tx with ibl?

Is there any advantage to using .tx over .hdr or .exr for image based lighting? Likewise, is there any disadvantages?

Also, will Arnold look for image based lighting in the textures search paths?

There's no disadvantage, and tx files are slightly faster to load during initialization.

ibl are textures and so use the texture search path
