Can't use aicellnoise for displacement.

By attaching the Outcolor R of my cellnoise to the displacement shader, assigned to a default sphere, I am not attaining the expected displacement.

Even after creating an identical network as provided in this other topic, I only get a smooth sphere. I downloaded the scene and everything, it works fine in IPR, except if I even attempt to change the pattern of the aicellnoise node, Maya crashes. Only in the scene from the mentioned topic. I'm running Maya 2018.5, it doesn't crash if I recreate it, it just doesn't displace.

Are you using the latest release? Are there any errors in the log file?

I'm running MtoA 3.1.1.1, Arnold Core 5.2.1.0. Looking at the 3.1.2.1 release notes, it says that it runs off of the Arnold Core 5.2.2.1. Will updating MtoA also update the Arnold Core or is there a different download link? I tried recreating the crash with the file output enabled, but it didn't create one. I'll respond once I get permission to install an update.
