Polygon Variation - like in C4D Variation shader

Hello,

I have a question regarding shaders and mapping images or gradients for instance to polygons on a mesh or a parametric object. I've done it with the in-built C4D Variation Shader with Gradients and Projector. See attached JPG variance.jpg (gradients mapped to poly groups).

I have used the Arnold shader switch and rgb data shaders which works well on a per object basis. Can I use the Utility / Uniform ID and map to its output?

Any ideas? Thanks!

Use the color jitter node and the faces parameters.make sure to change the color from white.

Thanks!

@xebajac@zdfpost.net xebajac@zdfpost.net I have used the Color jitter / Face / Uniform ID with a black color and I'm getting a nice black to white range of color on the polygons. Is there a way to map to that as if they were separate polygons?

your welcome...use a layer rgba or mix node and add a ramp node(map it the way you want ) then use it as a mix...Do you understand?
