How do I get HQ Render to Texture results?

I have an X and a Y component of a normal map so I'm using arnold to generate the Z component. When I render to texture I get results that are more blurry than the original textures I'm generating the Z from. Does anyone know how I get better quality results that mirror the original textures? Thanks
