Hello,
i tried to test the Arnold GPU-rendering, but when i try to render i got the error, that Nvidia driver version 419 was detected and 419.17 is needed. I have 419.35 installed at the GTX 2070. So is that a bug or exist a solution?
UPDATE: ok, so i have installed the 419.67 driver and i get still the same error. in the error it was detected driver 419.00

Hi, can you post a screenshot of the exact error, and can you please indicate the language of your Windows version ?
Thanks
EDIT: Just to confirm, this is a bug in arnold that seems to affect 3ds Max users with locale settings that use commas as the decimal separator. Upgrading drivers won't help for this. Your options are to either wait for the next arnold bug fix release which should hopefully have this solved or as other replies here have mentioned, change your system settings to use periods instead of commas (this might require a reboot or restarting 3ds Max).
Original message:
I have a suspicion that this could be a locale bug in arnold. Until we fix it, you might be able to get around it by changing your locale to one where the periods are used for decimal separators instead of commas. Are you able to try this out and tell us how it goes? If not, could you at least let us know what locale you are using so we can try to reproduce on our end?
I use german settings. I set it to us-english and that works. I tried it also in Maya before and there are no problems. So this problem seems only in 3ds Max. Ok, until this is fixed i let the local to us-english.
Hi Aleks,
Glad to hear the locale switch helps you as well. We're putting the finishing touches on what hopefully will be a fix for this in arnold so that you don't need to keep changing the locale.
I did install the creators driver 419.67 on my gtx 2018 on a german system and it worked for some minutes. Then I received the error mentioned in the title.
Since then I installed the game ready driver 419.35 and also changed the decimal separator from comma to period.
None of this has helped so far.
I did change the comma to point, which already is annoying for every other program. Did not help. What else should be changed?
as the comments seem to remain hidden I´ll write it as an answer.
I did change the comma to point, as written above, and that did not help. What else must be changed?
System Settings > Region > Advanced Settings > Decimal Separator
in that case I guess I just wait until this bug is fixed. As a freelancer I need to use several programs and I guess they all will be affected by this change.
I got the same with Max to A. I tryed both drivers gamers and creators ready. But it never worked, i always got the same error.
And you tried changing the decimal separator?
@Stephen Blair changing the decimal separator did work for some minutes and then it fell back to the error message that is the title of this thread. For some weird reason it also worked yesterday for a while. But then this error message kept showing.
So... I tried changing the decimal separator as suggested here and suddenly my 3ds max won´t open anymore, even i doubted that it has something to do with the decimal separator change, i restored it to the right setup, it did nothing. I tryed reparing without results, proceed to uninstall 3ds max and installed it again with sp3. It would, kind of, open but it then pointed to a maxtoa.dll error and kept freeze untill i force close it. Everything else is working as it should, i repaired and reinstalled maxtoa and 3dsMax, no lucky so far, i may need to format my whole system.
@Lendro Lopes Doesn't 3ds Max have a user preference folder you can delete? Just in case that helps.
I've got a Danish layout, same issue as you. Resolved locale issue by changing my workstation to US, all apps works very predictably. Just a note.
