I'm using a rtx 2080 and a gtx 1080. I got the latest creator ready driver. I tried it on my laptop with a 970m aswell but the same thing happens there.
Does this happen with any scene? Can you try with a simpler scene (or is this already a simple scene)?
Could you also get an Arnold log? In Render Settings > Diagnostics, set the verbosity to Info and enable file logging (there should be something in the file even after a crash, and it would at least give us an idea of the scene contents and the machine and software specs)
