Hi! One question...

Arnold GPU is compatible with BatchRender?

Thx!!!

Yes, you can batch render using the GPU

Hello, using Nvidia RTX 8000 graphics card if i render batch in maya 2020 with arnold 6, (GPU render type in render settings)

still maya performance is in CPU not in GPU. CPU 100% and GPU 20%, does arnold 6 with maya supports 100% rendering in Batch render?

Arnold 6 for maya (GPU Rendering) is only supports,

1. Interactive render?

or

2. Batch and Sequence Render also?

Please help me

I have the same problem, works in interactive mode but not batch render. Very disappointing, I think it must be a bug. Are you using maya 2020.2?

Hi David,

Can you give more details on the errors you get on attempting to batch render using Arnold GPU? As Stephen said, it should work, but it's possible you're hitting a bug.

task manger's GPU usage report isn't able to capture the GPU work that arnold does. That could be why it stays low.

When it comes to the actual rendering, Arnold is currently all CPU or all GPU, depending on what you select. When GPU rendering you'll still see CPU being used, but that's not for the actual rendering but instead for setting up the scene and/or moving data onto and out of the gpu.

Hello guys finally Here is the solution for utilizing graphics performance.

when i loaded a simple file in maya to batch render it utilizes 100% of CPU and 20% of GPU.

when i loaded a complex scene or simulated scene in maya to batch render it utilizes 100% GPU and 10-30% of CPU.

Arnold GPU performance is great and quick. Outstanding performance of GPU.

The only trouble which i am facing is with GPU render the images are too much grains and noises. after working with optix denoiser also.

Looking for the solution.

Thanks

Pallavakingamer,

See the guide below from the Arnold GPU docs on how to minimise noise:

Matching Noise on CPU and GPU

Matching noise can take a little experimentation because Arnold GPU uses Camera (AA) sampling only. We recommend you also use Adaptive sampling. Here are some guidelines:

  • Set the Max. Camera (AA) in the range of 30 to 50 (depending on the scene, you might go closer to 100). In general, the max samples should be a large value. A large max samples means that the quality is controlled by the noise falling under the threshold, instead of by clamping to the max AA.
  • Set the Adaptive Threshold to something like 0.015 or 0.02. For a noise-free render, lower the threshold value, maybe even as far as 0.010.
  • Set the Camera (AA) samples to around 3 or 4. One of the few reasons to go higher with AA is for motion blur. The higher the number of Camera (AA) samples, the less of a speedup you'll get from adaptive sampling.
