Hello,
Plans are to build a new computer and I want the flexibility of a mobile workstation, where I will have a separate dedicated small form factor render box either connected directly to my mobile workstation or on the network.
Questions are:
1. Does having a separate dedicated render box work with Realtime Raytracing on your mobile workstation?
Please note I have only rendered on my workstation, and have yet to use an external dedicated render platform.
2. Are there any hardware and setup considerations for external rendering for realtime raytracing, stills and animation for a connected mobile workstation? Thoughts are that the mobile workstation would be more for quick studies when out of the office, and the dedicated render hardware would be the go to for all rendering in the office. I don't know
if there would be any lag if the small form factor box is connected to my mobile workstation, and or what to expect if on the network in terms of speed etc...,? Would I want a different processor for network rendering over a setup where the render box is connected to my workstation?
Thanks!
