Arnold GPU freezes when connecting nodes to my shader

Hi! I am using the Arnold GPU with an RTX 2080 and I encounter massive freezes when connecting some of the nodes (aiCurvature manages to freeze it for quite a while everytime) to my shaders. I have all my drivers up-to date and I am not using any fancy scene, just a 1 million polygons scan. Do you have any idea what may produce this and how I could fix the issue?

Did you pre-populate the GPU cache?

Does this happen everytime you connect a curvature node, or just the first time?

I have the same problem. It is specific to the "aiCurvarture" node. When connected within a simple shader graph, it causes Maya to freeze when Arnold GPU is used. It works fine with CPU.

Minimal case - create cube, add aiStandardSurface, open Hypershade, create aiCurvature node, connect Out Color of curvature node to Base Color of aiStandardSurface, change rendersettings to Arnold GPU, open renderview, hit play and it freezes the scene.

Frustrating as I would love to render using GPU. Is there a work around? Or a way to recreate the effect with nodes that don't crash Maya?

I am using Maya 2019, MtoA 3.2.1, Arnold Core 5.3.1.0, GTX1080, Intel Core i7, Windows 10.

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem win10 pro, maya 2019.2, MtoA 3.3.0.1 and RTX 2080ti

Also I did pre-populate the GPU cache but same problem.

is the aiCurvature node suppose to work in GPU?
