aishadowmatte not displaying skydome shadows

Hi, i have a aishadowmatte on a plane, a directional light and a skydome light.

However, the aishadowmatte isn't currently capturing the shadow from the skydome, is this a known bug/by design?

example:
First image is how i expect the shadow to look once captured into the aiShadowMatte (in this example i just used a white plane - so i could comp this, but isn't as ideal.)

2nd image: How the aiShadowMatte is capturing the shadow just from the directional light and not the skydome as well:

Thanks for any info on this.

To me, I see a faint shadow from the skydome light in the first image. How does the shadow look using a regular surface shader? Can we see the HDR map? Does it have a high dynamic range? If the skydome samples are 1, try increasing them to get better quality shadows.
