Hi, is it possible to create a selection tag for a model in Arnold, just like in C4d, if I want to assign a specific texture to a specific part of a model?

Yes, the selection tag is supported by C4DtoA. The workflow is the same, no extra settings are needed. Let me know if it does not work as expected.
Hi Peter, thank you for your response. If you can please provide a simple workflow, I'd REALLY appreciate it!. In case I have not been clear, for example, if I have a model, with selection tags to assign specific textures to a specific set of polygons ( which have been determined by the selection tags), I do not see anywhere in the Arnold Parameters tag to achieve this, unless I'm looking in the wrong place. Thank you in advance, Craig

You just have to create an Arnold material with an image shader for each texture and assign the materials to the polygon selection tags. It really should be the same setup you use for the C4D Standard Renderer.
Hi Peter, thank you!-I suspected that, but I appreciate your sage advice, and thanks for the quick response, Best, Craig
Hi Peter, with regard to the selection tag question, that I had last year, I have a model that I added an object mask tag to, on that model, I created a selection tag and separate material assigned to it, can I add that tag as an AOV, or any way to add that to my render, and use it in Photoshop,? thank you
If you need a mask of the selection, you can add an aov_write_float shader to your material assigned to the selection tag. Set the value to 1 and give it a name. Than create a custom AOV in the render settings with the same name.
What you can not do at the moment is to write out the output of a surface shader to a custom AOV (you can not connect a standard_surface shader to the aov_write input). Only numeric or texture input is allowed.
It's because of the special (non-ascii) characters in the name of the Selection. Please use only standard characters until I fix this.
