Change background like C4d

Hello, I'm try to follow this tutorial

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAOvtrHrcuw

c4d based with arnold. I'm using all that i konw about maya, but with no luck.IS like infinite floor, but cinema4d have a background that can be controlled well then maya. You can add a ramp that is similar to a texture on imageplane or a plane. In maya the imageplane need some love to integrate well.

There is something that can be used in Maya?

Thanks

Dario

You can do this with a Shadow Matte shader on the floor plane and Rayswitch > Environment > Background.

Background is marked as Legacy now. What is the recommended way of doing this now?
