Optix version 0.0.0 is lower than the minimum required version 6.0.0

I wanted to try out the beta for gpu rendering but i cant seem to get it to work, this is the error i receive if i try rendering with render device set to gpu:

[Arnold]: [gpu] Optix version 0.0.0 is lower than the minimum required version 6.0.0 (GPU-rendering)

I tried downloading Optix off of the Nvidia dev site but it did not help... Any idea why this is happening?

You don't need to download Optix -- it's included in the nvidia driver. What version of the nvidia driver are you using? It should be printed in the arnold log.

Are these the logs you are looking for?

Yes. Now you need to increase the log verbosity so that info messages are shown. Might as well set it to show everything just to be safe. Instructions: https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AF3DSUG/Log

Thanks! I can confirm you're printing info messages now, but there's no "NVIDIA driver version" message. That means we were either not able to detect any nvidia driver or your nvidia driver is too old and doesn't contain optix. Do you have an nvidia graphics card? If so, do you know what nvidia driver you have installed?

For some reason i cant reply to your last message so i'll reply to this one, my graphics card is indeed nvidia, i belive the card is a gtx1060 and i currently have the 388.31 driver, what driver do i need?

That's too old. https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AFMUG/Getting+Started+with+Arnold+GPU#GettingStartedwithAr... has some instructions for what you need. Newer drivers have appeared since then, so if you can't get those, newer, like 430.64 is probably ok.

Download latest drivers (using Quadro p5000) and heaving the same issue. Arnold render settings don't seem to detect my graphics card after this update.

What driver version did you install? The p5000 should work if using the correct driver.
