Aishadowmatte on gpu is an absolute necessity for anyone that does vfx.it is not even a really complex shader. there is no other alternative for vfx on gpu right now.i really hope this gets added. Arnold is the best renderer for vfx ever. Its more physically based than even renderman.

The GPU initiative is a "work in progress" - in the alpha, I only had a couple of nodes that worked in the beginning. They gradually introduce various shading nodes as they are made ready and workable on the GPU.
Some shaders or closures are far from trivial to implement, despite their, perhaps very basic "end feature set" so it can take some time to get even a small "tick" on something working, that is the nature of programming, everything.
I really need this feature, my workaround is use a plane and try to match the enviroment floor texture with an alpha blend around the edges, it's very time consuming, iRay has this feature working perfectly, do you have an eta on a working model...
I don't understand. Why won't it work with CPU?
Oh yes i expected this feature. In mtoa 3.30 they gave us vdbs but not this godsend shader which is the heart of vfx.
Ok i know this is really stupid but you can turn your plane to pure green and key it out in comp. Dumb workaround if you wanna stick with gpu. @T.Roy Hopps @Lee Griggs @Stephen Blair @Mads Drøschler
