Global object fade?

Is there any way to fade in or out an entire object or hierarchy using a single tag or control, like the Visibility parameter of the Display tag? I'm guessing no.

My workaround to do this is to animate the Cutout Opacity of one of the materials in the object I want to fade out and set that as a Driver to apply to the Cutout Opacity of all of the other materials used in the object. This is manageable in objects with just a few materials, but it could become unwieldy with complex objects with scores of materials.

Thanks.

Shawn

No single option, sorry, you have to animate the opacity.

Thanks for confirming.

Is there a formal procedure to submit a feature request to add a global fade feature? Like in the Arnold Parameter tag? I know most artists creating content for motion pictures and special effects and such wouldn't create fades within the 3D render, but for people like me who mainly do motion graphics, explainers, and short product demonstrations being able to easily fade objects in and out without having to render multiple versions of a scene would be of great benefit.

Requesting a feature here in the forum is fine, I'll keep track of them. Alternatively you can send feature requests to support.

I'll see what I can do to make fading easier.
