Hi,
I'll definitely have more after more tests but my first question should be a very basic one, the help says we can load abc files in an Arnold Procedural node, however I get nothing rendered when using it this way. I was wondering if we are actually really able to render abc files through arnold procedural or if there is any kind of special settings to apply ?
Thanks!
Chris
You can load the alembic files as packed primitives, and HtoA will create alembic procedurals when it exports automatically. Use the alembic SOP in the geometry context, or the alembic archive object node, see https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AFHUG/Alembic for more info.
Thanks Julian,
Indeed an Alembic node works (only with Ogawa), but the help clearly says we should be able to load abc directly in arnold procedural. Using would be fine if there is no choice but for workflow purpose I'd rather get everything following the same process rather than having to know how to handle each types of data as we have .vdb, .ass .abc and who knows what's next...
