You cannot invert normals except if double-sided is unchecked...why?

Normals facing inwards or outwards affect the render only in single-sided mode. When the object is double-sided is does not matter, both sides are rendered.
Well, I'm not sure what's the problem exactly, so if you can send me a scene, that'd be nice.
normals are inverted so sss doesn't render well and I don't want to uncheck double-sided cuz the object is not single-sided. the reason im not using c4d inbuilt reverse normals is because its a simulation and I can't make it editable I only made a test scene editable so you can see the problem.
Interesting use case and indeed inverting normals makes sense here while the mesh is double-sided. I'm going to fix this in the next release. Thanks.
