hello. i'm new with mtoa and i cant find camera exposure, boke and other physical camera options.and even after some search.
is there any oprion to control exposure because render goes to bright so fast.i needed something like color mapping in this case.
thanks
Information about camera exposure can be found here.
Are you using Maya 2017+? If so, there are some Color Management rules that you must adhere to. For example, your scene could be extra bright because you have not set the HDR in the Skydome light to RAW.
i know about the color management, and i set raw for hdri and so forth.but i think there should be some options for physical camera because for example when i want to lit an interior scene with dome i should set high exposure for the dome or camera. or other oprions like iso, bokeh, bloom... i wish we could have these options.
I always tend to adjust the Exposure of the Skydome light according to how the HDR was captured. I rarely use Camera Exposure, to be honest as I prefer to do the work through lighting and adjust the exposure in post if needs be afterward, via EXR. It is your choice of course, how you do things.
Aperture controls can be found here. Bloom effects can easily be achieved in post using AOVs.
Are you using Portal lights with your Skydome interior? This would mean you don't need to push so much light into your scene with the Skydome light which may help. Unless you can provide some images, I can only guess as to what is causing your exposure issue.
well, no actually i did not use portal yet,but i think it should help. i will post some of them here im working on interior of car and i have this problem also for this project.
so im gonna post my test renders about interior lighting here.
i used a hdri for lighting and i dont want to use interior lights.i want to lit scene only with dome.all of my materials are white color but as you can see they are grey.i have tested with portal but it doesnt have so much strength as i expect.if i want to use more exposure for camera or dome my image will be completely overexposed.
i have tested also with corona in max it was totally wthie color and i could even use highlight compress.i read one article about comparing renderman and arnold as i understand its because arnold is unidirectional, am i right? or there is a way to fix this?
thanks
