Lighting Scenes

Hey lee Griggs can you please explain your lighting setups on these are they just only one skydome light with no other light including the car interior render.

The others just use a skydome light.

Is there something I'm getting wrong is it just the default Arnold sky or there's an hdr plugged to it...how are there reflections in the head scans eye. I'm just confused.

No now i get it...i just thought it was the plain skydome color i didn't know you were using an HDRI....but for interior scenes which is more recommended and gives better results skydome or area lights on windows?

I've read it before. I was trying to achieve this type of lighting Beautiful-Examples-of-Scandinavian-Interior-Design-Decoration-In-Scandinavian-Interior-Design.jpg But my version is always shitty and dark particularly with this scene Scandinavian test.png this is even with area lights...

  1. Skydome light (no HDRI).
  2. Portal lights at windows.
  3. Ray Depth 4.

Ok, Thanks I'll try increasing the ray depth to 4 and post results later.

Which plugin are you using? If it's MtoA make sure that you are using Color Management with something like a Unity View Transform.

It's definitely better... I think any lighting problem I'm facing is because maybe I failed to guess all the light sources in the reference.5131-snapshot-000.jpg
