Does time work with Arnold displacement?

Working in 3dsmax 2020 MaxtoA 3.2.65

HI

Im trying to set up a very basic scene where I use Arnold noise as a Map in the Arnold Displacement on a plane mesh. This works fine but it does not animate in time like it should!

The Arnold Autobump works but the displacement is just stuck on the first frame the modifier was turned on at.

Surely this is meant to work?

Or am I doing something wrong?

thanks a lot

Scene retranslation required to see updated position.
If you animate or scrub time line realtime, you will see the bump swimming where actual geometry just stands still.
Production mode has a force pre-translate scene, the active shade does not, so your only option is to push render to update, and hope this will be patched up soon by dev.

It still does not work in production rendering.

It actually only works when you scrub the timeline and use production.

Currently you cannot use time with noise!

You can as I explained, you need to push the render button to retranslate the scene so the geopetry works.
If you want realtime feeback, use the 3dsmax displacement modifier instead of render time displacement.
