Hi,
Spend the last months exclusivly GPU I was very happy how quick I was turning out work,
The card over heated and now its for repair, so temporary I'm back to CPU.
But the result are now very different from GPU
Looks like shadows, hair shader and eyebrowns xgen density are not matching
Any ideas of what could go wrong?
Maya Ribbon versus Thick, something like that?
Now on cpu is to slow to test every single option.

CPU

GPU
MSI Armour RTX 2070- 8GB
The headphones aren't shadow casting either. Is there light-linking in the scene?
The scene was like this:
Even trying this :
Still get the same result,
there is something going on with the scene, but I can't get the same result.
They are all rigged meshes
So i've export the scene as .ass
and playing witht the settings this one makes it work again
Override receive shadows....
So that mean that GPU is ignoring this and CPU still uses it.
But where is this shadow linking done?
Thank you
Johnny
I think there is something wrong with the scene , as I've created the same light and it doesn't cast shadow anyway,
by exporting as .ass and forcing that parameter I got this result that has the proper shadows.
what I can tell now is that the hair shader is not working properly between the GPU/CPU
This is the hair shader...
I'm having the exact same issue right now in Houdini with Solaris.
My viewport render looks perfect but then I render it to disk and it's all messed up.
Viewport:
Disk Render with the exact same settings.
It would be fantastic if autodesk could provide a fix or point a finger towards sideFX.
