how to render open vdb file from phoenix fd?

If you are using MAX, load a volume node to the scene from the command panel entry called "Arnold" Then load your vdb sequence in that and enable animation if you need to.
If the vdb files contain channels like, density, fuel, temperature, a small popup will be prompted for you when loading the sequence where you can see them and enable disable grids.

You can also add and remove grids from the string field on the modifier.

Here is a Houdini smoke vdb file as an example

To load the vdb you need to export 3 channels of "velocity" (x,y,z), "smoke" and "fuel" and then to load it it's smoke=density and fuel = emission and velocity is xyz.
