Hi, panicking, I added, manually the alshader into my Arnold plugin folder, big mistake, I did something wrong, now I can't use IPR, error message reads, "missing camera, can't access shaders ( I use a Mac) I used Time Machine to retrieve my older Arnold plugin, I can swap out my new (bad) one for the older one, but I don't want to screw up anything further, any suggestions, much appreciated!, do I reinstall,? if so, do I need to pay for Arnold AGAIN? please help me, feeling sad ;( and desperate, thank you -Craig
I think that your trying to render a camera that was deleted or renamed. Try checking your render setting and see if there's a camera set to be rendered and then set it to a default camera. I pretty sure it has nothing to do with alShaders.

Ted, thank you, but I can not access Arnold shaders , in the pull down , create>Arnold>shaders in material manager, when I highlight the word "Arnold" , there are no shaders there; thank you for your quick response, I have a tech call tomorrow at 8:30 AM, I hope that I don't have to RE-PURCHASE this software. By the way, can you please explain, where you are talking about,? where in my render settings do I look to see if I set one camera to render , and as you suggest , maybe that is my issue, sorry, that I'm not clear here , thank you again, it's late here, gonna retire for the evening, bless you
Why not just do a complete reinstall? If you've already paid for it I see no need to buy it again. 😉
Absolutely no need to purchase again, don't worry about that.
Frankly, I don't know what could be wrong. Maybe you removed some files (e.g. shader binary?) from the install folder. Reinstalling the plugin is safe and in this case it should solve the problem.
Thank you Peter, I have a call soon with tech at Autodesk, I don't even know where to get the link to re-install-do I need to do an "uninstall"? I hope to find out, thank you for your support, much appreciated, Craig
can anyone here please explain, how I can go about re-installing Arnold 5 for mac, I'd really appreciate it, thank you, Craig 😉
To reinstall you just have to simply run the installer again, like you did at the first time. The installer cares about removing all installed files first.
Hi Peter, thank you, but pardon my ignorance, where do I locate the installer,? on my Mac, or do I need to go to a link, ? if you can provide me with this info, I'll write it down, and keep it, in case I make another foolish error, ;)-!
Just go to the download section of the solidangle website:
BTW, to reinstall, do you suggest manually removing the older version of the plugin first ,? or by reinstalling will the newer version overwrite the older one,?
OK thank you!-initially, I had issues with the Terminal, but a gentleman from Cinesys-Ocean was very helpful, so Arnold had been working fine, do you foresee any problems with the terminal,? for a while, I was seeing the watermark in the IPR, I really have no choice but to try reinstalling
Hi Peter, so far, so good, reinstalled, went to my Terminal , entered proper commands, and viola!-no watermarks!-I can not thank you enough, I am saving the installer on my external HD for safe keeping, and saving a bottle of Scotch, just in case, ;)- I hope to return the favor to you or anyone else, provided I get good at this SOON!~-;)
