Tell DCCs to treat camera as orthographic?

In this thread,, I asked about preventing maya from modifying camera attributes, but a better question to ask would have been for whether there is a way for custom camera in Arnold to identify themselves as orthographic.

Hopefully, through a metadata type command, i.e. some variations of AiMetaDataSet* (probably string or bool). Any chance this, or anything that gives the same result through whatever means, in a DCC agnostic manner exists?

(Or as a less ideal, but still better than nothing a metadata option per DCC? Like being able to a have AiMetaDataSetStr*(nentry, NULL, "maya.specialFormattingOfArbitraryMayaAttributeThatWillBeSetWhenThisCameraTypeIsSelected", value);
