Mac Licensing Issues!!

I am getting increasingly annoyed with this absolutely stupid licensing system. I have logged into Autodesk using the ArnoldLicensingManager.App and nothing. Have tried entering serial number - nothing. Even been down the NLM and RLM routes and still cant get it to work. Why can you just create a licensing system that actually works.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

First of all, check your license type: https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AILIC/Finding+your+license+type

If you bought a single-user license via the e-store, you have to sign in to your Autodesk account via the Arnold License Manager and that's it: https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AILIC/Signing+In+to+Activate+Single-User+Arnold

If you have a network license, you may have to generate the license: https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/NLG/Getting+your+Autodesk+Network+License

You have to install the license server (NLM): https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=71011636

And setup the client via the Arnold License Manager: https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AILIC/Connecting+to+a+Network+License+Server

Or if you have the server already installed and setup, you may just want to update the license: https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/NLG/Adding+licenses+to+an+existing+license+server

If something's not working (e.g. you don't see Arnold 2020 when you try to generate a license, or have some weird error message, like I see in your screenshot above), please contact Autodesk support: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/contact-support

Hope this helps. If you still have troubles, please let me know.

The screenshot shows that you have a network license (because you have a serial key).

So in the Arnold License Manager you need to switch to Network Licensing (use the License menu).

And you need to generate a new network license and add that to your license server.

  • Save the new license file in /usr/local/flexnetserver/licenses
  • Open a Terminal and reread the new license file:
cd /usr/local/flexnetserver
./lmutil lmreread -c ./licenses

@ Do you have Render with Watermarks enabled? Check Render Settings > System tab, at the very bottom.

Close the Arnold License Manager, and then re-start the IPR (or render to Picture Viewer). If you still get a watermark, please get the diagnostics:

  • In CINEMA 4D, open the Arnold License Manager
  • In the Arnold License Manager, click File > Diagnostics
