Arnold rendering IPR different than in Perspective preview

Hello all,

I am in desperate need for help on this one.

The sphere on Perspective view is looking different then on IPR window as per attached screenshots. The sphere should look distorted while going in the taurus but on IPR just goes through without any tension or distortion.

I tried deleting cashe and rendering on IPR again but it didn't work.

Looking forward to be able to solve this.

Regards,

Can you send me the scene to check?

Seems like the result of the soft body simulation is not a standard deform object and it's not handled properly by the plugin. The only workaround I could find at the moment is to add a Subdivision Surface object to the Sphere with an Arnold tag on it.

Then C4D will subdivide the deformed mesh and the final mesh will be exported to Arnold. It's not an ideal solution but seems to work.

Here's the modified scene: fassoulia2_v02.zip

Also works if the Sphere is converted to a polygon object, so maybe it's just an issue with primitives/generator objects.

Thank you so much for your fast reply. Super helpful but unfortunately the result is not ideal because I was hoping to show the details of the deformation of the sphere primarily.

I will try that, thank you!

I just retried and it seems to be working pretty well!! It looks exactly like the Perspective now, not sure what happened! Super satisfied, thank you!
