HtoA Texture Baking

Hi,

I can't figure out how to get Texture Baking work in HtoA.

I enable Texture Baking on the Arnold ROP, set the Baking OBJ, include it in the Forced Objects.

No Camera, no Lights set.

Standard vertex uv set.

When I render Arnold created an IPR Cam and renders the Scene normal through that cam, not in UV Space.

Any ideas how to get that working?

Thanks!

It always outputs a black frame.

I tried to export an Ass with Houdin, then render that manually with Kick.

When using Kick with Render Display it looks correct.

The file it outputs is black though.

When using -dw without display its the same thing.

When I render Arnold created an IPR Cam

Then you must be doing an IPR render? Texture baking isn't supported in IPR mode, and baking will be disabled.

No I did not use IPR, know thats not supported.

The key was to use a utility shader isntead of directly piping the desired output into Arnold Material Output. (unlit intermediate shader result wanted)

Might be good to add that to the docs, hard to come up with on your own.

Also because it was very confusing because it actually worked with the Kick Render View, but just the output got saved black.
