We have avoided updating all of our machines until we finished a previous project, and also renewed our subscription. Now, however, after generating a new license file for the Flexnet server, we're getting watermarks in 3.0.1. If we roll back to an older version (2.x.x), it renders fine.
Following the troubleshooting page (https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/arnold/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Arnold-render-for-Cinema-4D-C4DtoA-cannot-find-a-valid-license-and-shows-watermarks.html) everything seems to be correct.
There's a section at the bottom that says Additional Notes for 2020, but I'm unable to follow it because it alludes to a folder that does not exist on any of our machines ("/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/AdskLicensing/Current/helper").
Any suggestions?

Get the diagnostics from CINEMA 4D: https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/x/94UfBg
If you see generic license checkout error (22) then get the Adlm.log file too
On the license server, check the license status (is the new license file being loaded? look for ARNOL_2020)
https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/x/4pLhAw
You should also get the debug server log from the license server (that's the log file in /usr/local/flexnetserver)
Very odd indeed. I'm attaching the diagnostics, as well as a txt file of the license status from the server. In looking through the status, it's not showing anything related to ARNOL_2020. Yet, if I check the generated license file from the AD site with the License File Parser, it shows 2020 listed (see attached screenshot). This is with a fresh install of the license server software, and multiple reboots. Thanks!lic_issues.zip
In CINEMA 4D, you need to switch to Network licensing.
The license server isn't using the new license file.
The license server is using /usr/local/flexlm/licenses/license.dat
And I assume that's your old license.
Replace license.dat with your new license file. You can do it like this in a Terminal
sudo cp /some/path/new_license.lic /usr/local/flexlm/licenses/license.dat
Then do a license reread:
/usr/local/flexnetserver/lmutil lmreread -c /usr/local/flexlm/licenses/license.dat
Brilliant, thanks Stephen! Switching over to Network License in the new Lic Manager seemed to do the trick!
