Single-User license not found - Houdini 18.0.287

I'm signed into the Arnold License Manager through Houdini (Houdini and Arnold build both match 18.0.287, Windows). My Autodesk ID is listed. But the status is reported as "No valid Arnold license found".

I've tried logging out/back in and refreshing. I get the Get Started page, select Single-User. It then takes me to a Begin Trial/Purchase license page. If I select "Already have a License?" at the bottom it just gives me an option to Switch User (which doesn't work) or to switch the license type.

Also tried running kick -licensecheck, I get

Could not find any license files, please check the license server, the license may be expired
Please contact licensing@solidangle.com

environment:

solidangle_LICENSE = (null)
RLM_LICENSE = (null)

Log on to manage.autodesk.com

Do you see an Arnold license? What does it say for Activation?

kick -licensecheck is for RLM licenses only.

Check the test render log (at the top of the diagnostics). Look for the clm log messages

I do see an Arnold license, Activation says "Sign in"

When I boot up Houdini I get this in the console:

00:00:00 75MB | authorizing with license manager: user ...
00:00:00 77MB WARNING | rendering with watermarks because of failed authorization:
00:00:00 77MB | [clm.v2] SERVICE (7): lgs UI requires GUI mode
00:00:00 77MB | ARNOLD_LICENSE_MANAGER = (not set)
00:00:00 77MB | [rlm] solidangle_LICENSE = (not set)
00:00:00 77MB | [rlm] RLM_LICENSE = (not set)
00:00:00 77MB | [clm] ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE = (not set)
00:00:00 77MB | [clm] LM_LICENSE_FILE = (not set)

When I try to do License Diagnostics I get a Houdini DSO Error

"Couldn't load C:/PROGRA~1/SIDEEF~1.287/houdini/dso/fs/USD_FS.dll."

"This is probably because this file was intended for use with a difference version of Houdini"

The error message appears to be coming from kick? I have to kill kick to make the error message go away (stop repeatedly popping-up).

I did download the Arnold plugin for Houdini 18.0.287 which is the version I'm running.

HtoA 5.0.1

Arnold 6.0.1.0

What's the clm log message when you open the Arnold License Manager, Sign In, and then do File > Diagnostics?

So I removed the DSO Error line from my ENV file and that fixed having to kill kick. Now when I run diagnostics I get this regarding CLM:

00:00:01 130MB | authorizing with license manager: user ...

00:00:01 132MB WARNING | rendering with watermarks because of failed authorization:

00:00:01 132MB | [clm.v2] SERVICE (7): lgs UI requires GUI mode

And all the environment variables listed after that are "(not set)"

This is the output of the diagnostics (after having to kill kick when that DSO error message keeps popping up)

[clm.v2] SERVICE (7): lgs UI requires GUI mode usually means you are not signed in.

Can you get the License Manager log from Help > About > Show Log ?

The environment variables are not used by single-user licensing. It's all based on the Autodesk ID.

@

This is a backend problem (a problem on the servers that supply the licensing information).

Workaround: log on to your Autodesk account, unassign Arnold, and then reassign Arnold

For single-user licensing, products are assigned to the users who can sign in and use those licenses. See https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/users-software/user-management/as...

Please accept this answer if it fixed the problem.
