I'm not familiar with Cineware and After Effects. My guess is that it does not support custom objects, like Arnold lights. I'm wondering if this workflow works with other custom renderers.
Ok thanks Peter. I thought it might not be possible. My solution was to create a copy of the c4d file and strip all the Arnold out of it so Cineware works. Thanks
Hi Lee, No i'm not exporting geometry. I have some text in C4D which i want to replace with After Effects type for fast updating. I would normally put a External Compositing Tag onto that text and tell it to create a solid within After Effects. Then in After Effects i use Cineware plugin to extract the 3D scene data. This normally gives you lights, cameras and external tags as solids. All i then need to do is replace the imported solid with my live text as it stays in the correct position within the 3D scene. When i try this with the Arnold Renderer it brings the Camera in but nothing else. This means i can't replace the text and have it sit within the composited scene After Effects scene. Is there a Arnold tag or a hack or something. Appreciate your advice.
