aiWireframe and transparency

When using aiWireframe is there a way to have the fill color be transparent so as to be able to see through the object? I am not able to get an alpha channel for the fill. I even tried using the checker shader but no go. Thanks.

wireframe itself doesn't support opacity.

standard_surface does, so you could use wireframe to drive the emission and opacity of the standard surface.

Ah, I didn't know you could add that shader to the opacity and it would see the poly edges. That worked out well. You can even animate the lines from a thickness of nothing of lines to completely solid. Thanks!
