WIsh Dragon Render technique

Hello,
I’m trying to some research on the look of the upcoming film Wish Dragon.
I understand that the team has gone through countless hours of research, trial and error to arrive at this result. Reproducing it is folly.
But for the sake of science and the love of lookDev, I’m throwing this question into the universe to reach out for like minded beings who have pondered upon this subject.

From what i observe:

  1. Flat look - Have a feeling that the characters were rendered in ortho.
  2. Washed out colors
  3. Bit of SSS here and there
  4. Pastel brush stroke
  5. Bloom & GI

Thanks in advanced
