Glass shader problem in Max 2020

Hello.

I'm having problem with glass shader in Max 2020 and start to find answer in this forum and I found this thread: https://answers.arnoldrenderer.com/questions/4890/view.html

I download the file that Mads fixed, save the material and load in my scene:

This glass shader I made with Mads settings, if you notice the cristal is black (I copied all presets).

This glass shader that Mads made shows different and mine is the same:

I don't now what is the problem, but I can't make a good glass shader in Max 2020, is there any problem with arnold updates?

If you download the Arnold Shaders from the help page:(https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AF3DSUG/Material+Library) and load in Max 2020, it has the same problem.

Could you help me?

Thanks.

Hello Griggs.

This link that you gave me was the material that I test, and the glass material always render with a tint.

I tried in maya with Arnold Material and the glass shows realistic but in Max the glass is not the same.

I have a question: Why in maya if I want to create a glass material in arnold, I only need to select the material and change the Base Weight to 0, specular 1 and transmission 1 and press render.?

As you can see in the image the cristal shows different (more realistic) but in Max I have to tweak to obtain the same result.

The material in arnold help page have a gray tint (always), if I create a glass material (always gray tint). Could you check that please?

I've exported it from the MtoA library, so it should be exactly the same now. Can you try it and confirm it, please?

Thanks Griggs.

I found a issue (or I supposed) with physical cam in Max, and I'll appreciate if you could help me.

If I use a physical cam to render glass (sphere) and the parameters with this cam is f=8, shutter 1/60, iso=100. Also I use skydome and use intensity and exposure=1.

The cristal is real.

But if I use a physical cam to render glass (sphere) and the parameters with this cam is f=8, shutter 1/100, or 1/250, 1/1000 and so on. Also I use skydome and use intensity=1 and exposure =8 (as default).

The rendering cristal appear black and I can't see trasmission.

Am I wrong?

Thanks.
