Hello, I always get the error 'an error happened during GPU rending: insufficient memory' when trying to render Speedtree assets with Maya using Arnold GPU. I have a Quadro RTX4000. The CPU rending works fine. Anyone know why this GPU error is occurring?

Usually it is exactly what the message says: not enough memory available on the GPU
Thanks for the response Stephen. I am surprised if that is true. I thought the Quadro RTX4000 is a new high spec card. It has 8GB GDDR6 memory. Isn't that a lot for a GPU card?
Depends enterily on your scene. I have a RTX 2080ti with 11GB and I was having that issue. Flush the caches helps as well. Donºt forget you have to fit your enterily scene into the GPU memory. If your scene is 20GB it will not fit in your GPU.
Problem solved. I was adding huge 8k texture into the scene. Lowering sizes fixed errors. Thanks
you have work really optimized for GPU rendering, you have only 8GB card, even less if Maya and OS take some memory of the card.
people typically buying cheap card for main 3d and OS (windows etc) and have fast GPU complete free for rendering. this is also super helpful because your screen does not freeze during rendering.
i have same error my render. i use GTX1080 Ti 11GB. My scene is render resolution 1024*1024 AAsample 3. I render my char assign aiStandSurface not connect texture for GPU render i work the momey hold to 2-3GB , but i connect my to shader. the GPU momey up to 9-10GB, if i increase AAsample to 6, will 'an error happened during GPU rending: insufficient memory'.
My texture file item 222file, total file size 1.76G.
So how to fix texture use too much GPU momey problem?
