Select GPU for Maya Viewport

Is there a way to force Maya to use a specific GPU and not just the first one it finds in the index? I have two Titan RTX Nvlinked that I want to use for rendering, and the 3rd Titan Xp for viewport. But right now Maya auto-picked the first GPU, i.e. one of the Titan RTX.

Have you tried Manual Device Selection?

You can use the NVidia Control Panel.

If you have more than one card, you'll see them listed and you can choose which one to use for Maya.

Thanks Lee, I use manual selection for designating the desired cards for rendering. But I am looking to find a way to selected a specific GPU from my Multi-GPU setup for Maya's viewport.

I manged to find a workaround using TCC mode settings.

I was wondering if any of you faced this issue with the latest Windows 10 update. It basically wiped out all the configs that was made to have the Nvlinked GPUs running in TCC mode. Then because of the update, Windows enabled all GPUs back to being in WDDM mode. Therefore, Maya started using an arbitrary card from the list (usually the first one in the index) instead of the GPU I had dedicated to be used for viewport only. Next, I went on to enable SLI, but Windows wont let me because of Microsoft based process running in the background that you cannot kill. I had to resort to the small utility by Nvidia that forces the GPU I want for "rendering only" to TCC mode. This hides those GPUs from being used by Windows 10 - which in turn, leaves you with the non-TCC GPU to be used for Maya's viewport.

Oooo, I used to do this with laptops so it used dedicated card instead of integrated card for Maya. I will give this a try. Thanks. I also posted a workaround below.
