gpu error after reloading textures...

Hi there,

I'm running into this issue repeatedly after reloading textures.

(Details: Function "_rtContextLaunch2D" caught exception: Assertion failed: "entry->startPage == startPage", file: <internal>, line: 102)

It's extremely infuriating from a work flow stand point. I have to restart maya to view my updated textures every time.

I have an RTX 2080 ti with the latest Studio Driver and I'm rendering in Maya 2018 with version MtoA 4.0.2. I have also tried uninstalling the driver altogether and reinstalling it and the problem persists. I previously just worked through a whole character without this issue so I am puzzled why it's happening now.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi David,

Thanks for reporting, we're aware of the issue and are actively looking for a solution. I'll post an update once we have more information.

Hi Delcan,

Thanks for your response. In the meantime do you have any more info to offer that may possibly help me work around this issue? Is this a driver specific issue or arnold version issue?

If there is anything I can revert (such as, to an older version of the video card driver) to temporarily avoid this problem that would greatly speed up my workflow.

Thanks again for your reponse!

Unfortunately not, its a bug that is triggered when you delete and recreate a texture on the GPU. So the current workaround is just to not do this, which I can imagine isn't very helpful. I wish I had a better answer for you, it may be reassuring to know that this is high priority for us so hopefully we will have an solution sooner rather than later.

Hey Declan, thanks for the update! No worries, I understand. Thanks for being hard at work with this! I will try to update my textures as little as possible for now haha!

I also just noticed I spelled your name wrong in the first comment, sorry about that!
