Material IDs on separate layer in EXR?

I am trying to render material ID mattes for compositing. Cryptomatte works well but all material IDs will be on one layer and it's almost impossible to key values for comping.

Is there a way to store IDs on separate layer ?

Or any other way to render material ID passes separated for compositing ?

In that post, I shared some materials in a material library and a max scene which you might find helpful.

I use AfterFX for compositing. Use the cryptomatte effect, select the object, then choose matte options from the drop down. You shouldn't have to key anything.

I need just the opposite - separate mattes on separate layers.
