Installing Arnold 5.3 in Houdini 18.0460 not working ??

Hey,

I have been going through all the questions here on these forums regarding installing Arnold in Houdini and I tried every single possible option and advice, checked my houdini.env file, I have tried to reinstall Houdini and even Arnold, restart computer, but I still cannot see the shelf in Arnold? It's installed by I cannot see it, I do not know what to do next? any suggestions?

plus I have Houdini Indie license

is there something missing? the name and even the version of arnold is correct, any help please?

clique the "+" sign from the shelf menu to add arnold shelf

this is what I do not see, I do not see there the Arnold shelf option, that's what I am trying to solve 😕 not sure why it is not showing up

Do you see the shaders and other Arnold nodes in the SOP, ROP etc menus?

Is your exact Houdini version 18.0.460?

Hi everyone, answers found and hopefully it will help others as well. When you are installing Arnold, be careful with having and third party plug in like renderman, which might be overwriting you Arnold installation. If you have at the end of your .env file this as well:

HOUDINI_DSO_ERROR = 2

HOUDINI_PATH=$RFHTREE/18.0;&

PATH=$RMANTREE/bin;&

HOUDINI_NVIDIA_OPTIX_DSO_PATH = C:/Users/irena/Documents/houdini18.0\optix

please add # and change it to this:

HOUDINI_DSO_ERROR = 2

#HOUDINI_PATH=$HOUDINI_PATH; $RFHTREE/18.0;&

#PATH=$PATH;$RMANTREE/bin;&

HOUDINI_NVIDIA_OPTIX_DSO_PATH = C:/Users/irena/Documents/houdini18.0\optix

that solved the issue for me, renderman was no longer overwriting my Arnold instalation script. Hope that helps to you too.
