Displacement rendertimes issues

Hi!
I have a lowpoly shape with displacement map, for detail this mesh I need 6 Arnold SubD interation, render with this interation start very long and eat 34Gb RAM
But if I use 3 interation smooth in maya and 3 in arnold, render start very fast and use only 16Gb RAM.
So my question is why Arnold consumes so much RAM with the same number of polygons and the quality of the final result
Same in HtoA too.

Adaptive Metrics and Autobump turned off.

Smooth in Maya means you export an already-subdivided mesh, and then Arnold has less subdivision work to do.

Thanks, I know it.
I'm more interested why arnold consumes twice as much memory than it would be done simply in a 3d package? I do not remember that it was the same on core 4.
In both cases, we have the same number of polygons.

Can you post an Arnold log?

Just Info.

I was testing in Maya, and with 12 iterations, both Maya and Arnold used all my memory (I was comparing Smooth 12 against Arnold 12)

Yes, I’m looking logs now, and see different numbers in tessellation triangles, it seems I missed 1 iteration SubD in maya... Thanks for respond Stephen, and sorry for you time.
